Ibiza Summer Guide 2024

The best thing about Ibiza is that it can be whatever you want it to be. It’s true that The White Island is most associated with parties, clubbing, and electronic music, and for good reason, but it’s so much more. Your main problem will be knowing what to choose, because this island is packed with activity. Culture, spectacular beaches, breathtaking sunsets, unique landscapes, picturesque villages, hippy markets and, of course, the best clubs. This guide is going to help you fall in love with this incredible place.

Clubbing and entertainment

Clubbing culture

Ibiza has a rich musical history, from its hippie culture in the 1960s to the Balearic sound that emerged from the island’s clubbing counterculture of the 1980s. It is one of the world's leading electronic music destinations, and home to iconic venues such as Pacha, Amnesia and Ushuaïa.

Discover the island

After all that partying you'll need a moment to chill out on a beach, watch the sunset behind Formentera, recharge your batteries in a restaurant or visit one of the many wonders that Ibiza has to offer.

The best beaches

Ibiza is full of paradise-like beaches with turquoise waters, such as Cala Llonga, Cala Comte, Cala Bassa, Cala d'Hort and Playa d'en Bossa. On some of these, you’ll spot an old traditional system for raising and lowering the boats into the sea still being used. Many of these beaches also have bars and clubs where you can enjoy delicious cocktails and listen to live music.

What to eat, art and culture

No matter how much time you spend, you’ll never feel like you’ve seen all Ibiza has to offer. The walled Dalt Vila, declared a World Heritage Site, occupies the upper part of the city of Ibiza and, besides the spectacular views it offers us, it is full of culture. Don’t miss Santa Eulària des Riu either, which retains the unique special charm of an old Ibizan village, complete with the church-fortress of Puig de Missa.

Other spots worth visiting include the beautiful village of Santa Gertrudis, with its striking bell tower and a market with craft shops selling leather goods, clothes and items made of palm tree leaves. Or Sant Antoni, where the locals say Christopher Columbus was born and offers chillout spots such as Golden Buddha.

If nature is your thing, make space in your agenda, because Ibiza is full of interesting green spaces. The Ses Salines Natural Park is a haven for birds where you can see flamingos, and the Cova de Can Marçà will transport you to the world of the old smugglers. Before leaving the island, don’t forget to visit the viewpoint in the Cala d’Hort or the one in Torre des Savinar. You’ll be stunned by the incredible views of Es Vedrà, a small islet full of legends that rises from the Mediterranean Sea.

Ibiza's gastronomy is another of its strong points, with classics that include sobrasada, flaó and ensaimada. In Sant Carles, you’ll find the oldest bar on the island, Bar Anita (or Ca n'Anneta), where, besides its food, you’ll be able to enjoy the island's famous herbal liqueur.

And we can’t forget to mention the famous hippy markets, such as Las Dalias, which offer local products, handicrafts and live music. Don´t leave without visiting one!
